Senior Executive - Broadcast engineering

Overall Purpose of the Role:
Summary of the role – overall role contribution to team, department and organisation.
This role is responsible for the technical development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of the Broadcast Engineering & related services and provide day to day support to the Engineering touch points. Technical scope includes all aspects of Post Production & Live Studios. Ability to provide On Call and After Hours Support will be required. The position is also expected to plan and undertake specific role(s) (including managing projects) to deliver assigned projects. Ultimately this means providing project services to ensure that projects are planned and delivered within the time, cost, quality and scope parameters that have been agreed with the stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesKey elements and required results of the role:
- Post Production:
- Disk storage – RAID / NAS / SAN technologies,
- NLE – FCP, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premier Pro, Pro Tools
- Video formats and Workflows
- Archival Management
- SLA Tracking & Reporting
- Knowledge about MAC OS
- Transcoding and QC service
- File formats and Broadcast Technologies
- Playout & Teleport
- Manage partner managed Playout & Teleport
- GFX/File formats etc.
- SLA Tracking & Reporting
- Experience of live production/studio environment like News or Sports
- Support and troubleshoot the daily Media Operations technical issues
- Implement Technical Solutions to enhance more efficient operation.
- Will be responsible for working on new or enhancement projects involving any of Engineering areas
- The position will assist the Manager to plan and undertake specific role(s) (including managing projects) to deliver assigned projects. Ultimately this means providing project services to ensure that projects are planned and delivered within the time, cost, quality and scope parameters that have been agreed with the stakeholders
MANAGEMENT CONTROL
- Manage, co-ordinate, and maintain relationships with Disney Cast Members & 3rd party support staff in providing support to clients.
- Responsible for maintaining asset records for hardware and software in the offices where support is provided.
Enforce corporate standards for hardware and software procurement and operation. Basic QualificationsEducation
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 6+ years working experience in Broadcast Industry.
- Excellent communications with keen technical understanding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in service provision.
- Experience with Windows OS & MAC
- Sound knowledge of Broadcast Industry, key suppliers and equipment.
Preferred QualificationsEducation
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
