Director of Ad Operations, BAMTECH Media

BAMTECH is a streaming technology joint venture between The Walt Disney Company, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, and the National Hockey League. BAMTECH handles streaming for numerous partners, some of which include, HBO, MLB, NHL, Eurosport, ESPN, and World Wrestling Entertainment.
Fans demand access to content on their own terms on any device, anytime, anywhere. We are those fans. As a result, the BAMTECH Media team helped pioneer live event streaming over the Internet in 2002 for Major League Baseball. The passion to improve that experience led to many impressive firsts: the first 720p or “HD Ready” stream, the consecutive record for concurrent streams and the first stream in 8K ultra HD. Today, BAMTECH has a proven, scalable platform that powers direct-to-consumer applications for leading entertainment brands; and is now a major player in sports and eSports rights acquisition.
The Director of Ad Operations will initially be asked to work in establishing best practices for launching and managing direct sold sponsorship and programmatic advertising campaigns across the ‘League of Legends’ Esport product. Solutions and process for League of Legends will need to scale to other direct to consumer offerings at BAMTech.
Responsibilities

  • Trafficking - Manage the execution and technical deployment of direct and programmatic video and display campaigns. Ad-serving, trafficking, optimization, troubleshooting along with cross-platform implementation (desktop, mobile, connected devices).
  • Work with Sales and Ad Product teams to provide high-end monitoring and reporting of the advertising activity. Monitoring revenues, campaign fulfillment, inventory availability along with key performance indicators like VTR and CTR.
  • Pricing and Yield Management: Work closely with the sales team to create optimal inventory and pricing structures to maximize revenues.
  • Work with product and tech team to enhance ad serving solutions, revenue products and QA/Troubleshooting methodology.
  • Create best practice process and documentation to ensure the delivery and execution of ad and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Work with and evaluate ad tech vendors and partnerships to maximize efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experiences in ad operations with a strong preference toward digital and video streaming service capabilities
  • High level of proficiency with DFP, Free Wheel, and other core ad tech businesses
  • Effectively communicate across multiple disciplines within BAMTech including Ad Tech, Sales, Marketing, and Exec
  • Have the ability to scale ad operations across multiple platforms including 3rd party platforms not wholly owned by BAMTech.
  • Ability to hire and effectively build/manage a small and nimble team.
  • Strong organization skills and detailed in identifying problems and effective solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
