Graphic Design Internship, Corporate Communications - Summer/Fall 2018

Disney's Corporate Communications department is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated intern for our graphics team. You need to be comfortable working with tight deadlines, be extremely detail oriented, highly organized and able to multi-task and thrive in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Projects include working with Disney Newsreel online, D23.com, twenty-three magazine, and a host of corporate visual communications projects (including branding, collateral, merchandise, and presentations).   • Create modern, compelling, unique, and inventive designs that also follow TWDC branding guides and standards
  • Apply ingenuity, creativity, analytical, and organizational skills to identify and evaluate design problems and develop strong solutions
  • Be well versed in both digital and print mediums
  • Ability to prep files for production to exact requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments within DCCR to achieve the best possible product
  • Be aware of current market trends in both design and content consumption

Basic QualificationsWhat we are looking for…

  • Experienced in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Advanced skills in visual design, Web Design, print standards, color theory, and typography
  • Quick-learner with ability to take direction, work under pressure and operate as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • An extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • High sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Familiarity of The Walt Disney Company brand and its businesses
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design or closely related field

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through early January 2019
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Glendale area
  • Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
