Disney Enterprise Tech is responsible for strategy, architecture, engineering, operations and support of IT for The Walt Disney Company including virtual worlds, flagship Web sites Disney.com, Disney Family.com, ABC.com and ESPN.com. Enterprise Tech provides services in both platform engineering and web operations. Platform engineering includes Content Management Systems, UGC Enforcement Platform, E-commerce, Video Distribution Technology, Registration, Advertising Systems and Data Warehouse & Reporting. The web operations teams focus on Servers & Hosting and Network Connectivity. The teams are located in Seattle, Bristol, N. Hollywood, Glendale, New York, Burbank, and Orlando.
The Network Operations team holds accountability for the availability and stability of the network services within the Enterprise Tech portfolio. This includes Data Center networks, Wide Area and Metro Area networks, wireless, end-user LANs, firewalls, WAN acceleration, application load-balancing and a wide array of supporting technologies. In Operations we have multiple projects technical, process and management focused which would be a great opportunity for an intern to come in deliver. The learning opportunity is huge with the scale of Network operations of Disney.
The projects the interns can be engaged on can range from very technical projects to understand a new solution designed and effectively onboard to operations, to identifying opportunities to assess the network design and identify areas that can be improved. Project focus also include automation and scripting initiatives for the network devices, creating dashboards and reporting.
Process improvement opportunities include establishing network device audit process, SLA adherence process, ticket handling procedures, customer engagement process, Asset and procurement process etc Basic QualificationsWhat we are looking for…

  • Passion to learn is the key qualification along with theoretical understanding of the networking concepts around LAN, WAN, routing, and switching.
  • IT Operations and ITIL knowledge along with Six sigma and lean methodologies is a plus
  • Automation, Python tools or scripting projects experience also a plus

Preferred QualificationsIntern candidates who have IT as their major and have performed any network related project is a plus Required Education Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program.

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2018 through August 2018
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own transportation in the Orlando, FL area
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
