Manager, Program Management

This position will be part of the Enterprise Strategic Programs (ESP) Program Management Office, and is responsible for enabling the project, program and business analysis activities of a portfolio of business and technology initiatives for an assigned business area. They will ensure designated projects and programs are successfully executed, working strategically with the business unit and ESP PMO team to implement best practices and standards. They will act as a coach and mentor to the Program Managers and Business Analysts. They will be responsible for continuous improvement activities around program delivery for their assigned business area, raising the maturity and capabilities of the program delivery discipline. They will utilize varied techniques in conjunction with exceptional communication skills to keep projects in scope, on budget and delivered on time. They will directly manage and provide oversight to the PM team they are responsible for on all aspects of new implementations, continuous-improvement initiatives and internal projects that are formally initiated. They are the main point of contact to the ESP PMO for the business executives within their assigned organizational area. They will also act as a conduit for sourcing qualified external PM/BA talent in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities

  • working with stakeholders (executives, project managers, business analysts and vendors) to mature program and business analysis capabilities, respecting the uniqueness of each organizational area
  • partnering with executive sponsors to ensure strategic program objectives are clearly identified, understood, and codified
  • helping teams Improve the speed of program execution while maintaining quality and cost of service
  • leveraging standard processes, tools, training and communications
  • optimizing for flexibility, scalability and rapid deployment of resources through expanded labor provisioning options
  • delivering metrics to understand resource allocation alignment to strategic priorities
  • improving talent development and acquisition

Basic Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience overall, including:
  • 1-2 years in a supervisory, executive-
  • facing role
  • 5+ years in technology
  • The candidate must have proven experience in working in a matrix environment and managing multiple stakeholders, as well as possess leadership presence/gravitas
  • Relevant project/program management work experience across multiple technology areas and services preferably to include infrastructure, applications, data management, security or business relationship management
  • Has knowledge of one or more technical specialty areas
  • Leverages expert knowledge to identify needs of and opportunities for teams
  • Manages and facilitates development of complex solutions
  • Possesses excellent people management skills
  • High-energy with willingness to be creatively disruptive
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong commitment to program success metrics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong planning, scheduling, prioritization and organization skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Works effectively in a team environment, and with remote teams and vendors
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of/skills in the content areas of:
    • Working with business units and engineering Directors to define, plan and prioritize projects
    • Determining resource needs and recommending solutions
    • Managing progressively complex technical projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Media and entertainment industry experience, consulting experience

Required Education

  • BA/BS in business, computer science, other business/tech field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree and/or experience
