Director, Marketing

LOCATIONS:

Responsible for global marketing lifecycle management of Star Wars animated television franchise across lines of businesses including broadcast, digital and in-Home. Drives the planning & execution of the global franchise & entertainment plans for animated television working with cross-functional team & outside business partners. Role will also engage with additional cross line of business partners (Studio, DCPI, In-Home, Parks, etc.) in the development and execution of Star Wars strategies and planning, including: upholding brand guidelines across all tactical executions, partnering to achieve best-in-class creative, ensuring franchise alignment, and proactively seeking synergy opportunities to maximize marketing impact. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Star Wars animated TV portfolio, partnering with Lucasfilm Publicity and Channel marketing teams to set goals, build campaigns, and creative ideation for tactical executions
  • Develop marketing planning tools and materials to facilitate long-term planning across Franchise, including: pitch decks, marketing briefs, campaign tracking documents, etc.
  • Present pitches and franchise/marketing presentations on behalf of Lucasfilm
  • Define, communicate, and uphold brand guidelines across all creative materials and executions, providing creative guidance to reach solutions; partner with Lucasfilm Story team to ensure all materials stay true to Star Wars brand/narrative
  • Review and approve creative materials on behalf of Lucasfilm team, managing review process across additional key stakeholders (production execs, senior management, etc.) as needed
  • In partnership with lines of business marketing counterparts, guide individual marketing plans to achieve alignment with overarching franchise goals and objectives, including: integrated creative, campaign timing, and coordinated media efforts
  • Collaborate with Studio Research & Insights to identify key business questions, and ensure relevant learnings are communicated and applied to future planning
  • Proactively seek process improvements and efficiencies, to aid planning and communication within both Lucasfilm Franchise and across cross line of business partners
  • Spearhead strategy & planning of Force for Change charitable efforts and social outreach programs
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing Domestic Franchise Marketing team
  • Budget oversight across select line-items, partnering with VP to reallocate and manage throughout the fiscal year
  • Partner with Director, International Franchise Marketing counterpart to ensure pertinent Domestic Marketing information is streamlined and communicated to Int’l markets in real-time

Preferred QualificationsTo be successful in this role, candidate will ideally have:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years brand/entertainment/franchise marketing experience, within a highly matrixed organization, required
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing communications and advertising across all disciplines
  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership abilities
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently
  • TV Marketing experience; Children’s Marketing experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications or related field, preferred
