Digital Specialist - Disney Music Group


Disney Music Group is home to Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records, Disney Music Publishing and Disney Concerts. The labels’ genre-spanning rosters include Demi Lovato, Ocean Park Standoff, Sofia Carson, ZZ Ward, R5, Zella Day, Breaking Benjamin, Bea Miller, Sabrina Carpenter, Joywave, Olivia Holt, Jordan Fisher, Tini Stoessel, In Real Life, Jorge Blanco, and more. DMG also releases family music and film and television soundtracks such as the Oscar- and Grammy-winning Frozen soundtrack, the Grammy-nominated Guardians of the Galaxy, chart-topping soundtracks including Moana, Beauty and the Beast and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, plus Coco and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Upcoming soundtracks include Black Panther, A Wrinkle in Time and Avengers: Infinity War. DMG recently acquired the entire Star Wars catalog featuring the music of Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer John Williams.
The Digital Specialist is responsible for steering and routing all assets and web development projects across Disney Music Group’s releases, which includes artists on the Hollywood Records label, as well as Soundtracks/Products attached to our Studio Films, company TV properties and legendary Disney Music Catalog and Walt Disney Records brand. This role reports directly to the Director, Sales and Digital, and is responsible for the following:

  • Route web builds for DMG artists and properties, and handle hosting solutions as it pertains to internal or external partners; inclusive of domain and DNS registrations
  • Source and route web builds internally and externally for feedback and final approvals
  • Spearhead, account manage, assess and route social assets for use across DMG’s roster of artists and projects
    • The above includes assets to be used with social media platform partners that include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, YouTube and the like
  • Manage third party relationships and design agencies for development of assets – social and web
  • Launch + maintain websites and manage digital projects for DMG properties and artists
  • Work with additional Director, Sales + Digital, on D2C projects for DMG, including development work, asset creation, and compliance review
  • Work with internal teams to ensure corporate compliance on projects, builds and assets created for DMG
  • Continually evaluate competitors and industry trends

Basic QualificationsBasic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience working in the music or entertainment industry
  • High level of familiarity in social media platforms and the types of assets used therein
  • Firsthand experience launching websites, and working familiarity with how websites and hosting environments function is a plus
  • Knowledge of how various CMS platforms function (WordPress, Tumblr, Squarespace, Drupal) a plus
  • Experience managing relationships across artists, managers, and varied lines of business
  • Excellent organizational skills. Strength in multitasking is a must
  • Proven success building and maintaining internal and external relationships – diplomacy and interpersonal skills are a necessity. Customer relations experience a plus
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with coding language options (ability to code not required, but a plus)
  • Familiarity with data and privacy compliance a plus
  • Working knowledge of design, a sense and experience for contemporary styles and trends a plus
  • General understanding of reporting on web traffic a plus
