Disney/ABC Television Group’s (DATG) Digital Media team is responsible for developing digital products and revenue for ABC, ABC News, Freeform, and Disney. The team has been at the forefront of many of the company’s pioneering technical innovations, from being the first network to offer full episodes on iTunes in 2005 to the recent deployment of its industry-defining WATCH applications. The Strategy Intern is a highly valued member of the Digital Media team working on critical strategic and operational initiatives. The strategy team as a whole works closely with the EVP, Digital Media and other executives across DATG.
Responsibilities
-Assist in evolving the long-term strategic planning process and annual operating plan, including building financial models and creating synthesized presentations for executive management.
-Work in close partnership with finance, analytics, and research to form hypotheses, plan out analysis, gather data and deliver well supported recommendations in a timely manner.
-Analyze business performance and build financial models (e.g., ROI analysis, pro-formas) with input from relevant departments and business leaders.
-Monitor industry trends and interpret the potential implications for the business.
-Work effectively with other executives and team members throughout DATG, as well as other groups within The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). Basic QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:
-2+ years of experience (4+ years total) in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy (required).
-Strong analytics and financial modeling skills.
-Demonstrated ability to build compelling/congruent PowerPoint presentations.
-Eagerness to dissect and analyze complex business relationships.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a variety of business partners.
-Must be comfortable working both independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
-Digital Media/entertainment experience and/or passion for the space (i.e. use/engage in social media, watch television, access content on digital platforms e.g. online, mobile, etc.).
PLUS:
-All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
-All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
-All students must currently be enrolled in an MBA program and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an MBA program.
- All students must be available to work Monday through Friday 40 hours/week in Burbank, CA.
-All candidates must be available during the months of late May/early June through late August/early September for the Summer internship season.
-All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
-All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Required Education -BA/BS degree and strong GPA from a top-tier University.
