Associate Manager, Special Events

LOCATIONS:

Shanghai Disney Resort, the first Disney resort in Mainland China, is a place where friends and families can escape together to a whole new world of fantasy, imagination, creativity and adventure. The resort is home to the Shanghai Disneyland theme park, featuring six lands, as well as two themed hotels – Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, Disneytown, a large shopping, dining and entertainment district, a Broadway-style theatre, Wishing Star Park and other outdoor recreation areas. Shanghai Disneyland is a Magic Kingdom-style theme park featuring classic Disney storytelling and characters but with authentic cultural touches and themes tailored specifically for the people of China. As we continue to develop this magical destination, we’re looking for a variety of world-class professionals including front line Cast Members and an innovative development team to help our plans take shape.
Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic PR plans that supporting communication goals, managing investment allocation and partnering with 3rd party to accomplish the work.
  • Manage and implement media events or PR programs with key stakeholders including internal Line of Business and externally with media and KOLs.
  • Create and publish compelling media angles and content tied to news and events for media and consumer audiences.
  • Actively establish and maintain the media/KOLs relationship in China.
  • Support management of media events budgets and process as well as annual financial planning including AOP responsibilities.
  • Education:
  • 4 year college degree or above

Basic Qualifications

  • Around 7 years of Directly Related Experience
  • Good knowledge of the media, social and key opinion leader landscape; and Keen relationship builder with solid media relations in China.
  • Requires extensive communication and influence skills and strong Project management across line of business, segment, agency and JV Partnership.
  • Demonstrate success of working with leading media outlets in driving news media coverage for large multi-national brand or via agency role, consumer goods and luxury or travel industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive large scale, complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Outstanding English and Mandarin skills in spoken and written; able to develop English news release and good presentation skills.
