Technical Manager - Show Quality

Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical show quality disciplines (AV, Lighting, Animation, Figure Finishing, Special Effects, Video and Projection) assigned to the venue
  • Responsible for all tasks associated with the technical review, documentation and communication of technical show readiness for any variety of Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) attractions and facilities
  • Manage the entire Show Readiness Review Program, including bi-annual technical audits and review with park executives and Managing Director
  • Work closely with planning and project/construction management teams to offer scope development, planning, scheduling, estimating for both new and reoccurring projects, and rehabs
  • Develops and manage scope, schedule and budget for Design Services technical input and production work for all technical support jobs
  • Create strategies for life-cycle analyses and replacement of obsolete technologies and systems
  • Liaise with the Park Art Director and Hotel Art Director to identify specific issues, allocate resources to address needs and coordinate efforts to complete projects
  • Coordinates the creation and teaching of regular technical show discipline classes and attraction show quality training programs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree holder in Fine Arts, Theatrical Design, Engineering or related disciplines
  • At least 2 years’ project experience, 5 years’ experience in Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) or related professional environment is preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of theatrical design and technical knowledge of specific discipline, including methods of construction; has broad understanding of all show design
  • Good knowledge of computer systems, databases and documentation procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of WDI Show Systems and Technical Show disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of CAD or similar electronic design software
  • Understanding of Show Quality standards and procedures
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to travel for extended periods of time
