We Are…
The event operations, logistics, and changeover team collectively known as Sports Facilities Operations. We are responsible for managing all sports events that take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Event Operations acts as a communication conduit between the client and operating partners, and onsite event execution and service are their primary function. The Logistics team provides all the purchasing, warehousing, maintenance, and inventory management for the equipment and day-to-day Sports complex operations. The Changeover team is responsible for the set and strike of all events, sports, and activities held at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
ResponsibilitiesMake an impact by…

  • Participating in the day-to-day operations of ESPN Wide World of Sports complex and providing the highest quality of Guest service
  • Collaborating with partners and clients to maintain and improve various areas of the complex
  • Participating in event planning and runDisney race procurement and logistics
  • Active involvement with Premium Third Party Clients
  • Assisting with planning and execution concerning team builders and functions with Epcot Events
  • Preparing weekly communications for ESPN Wide World of Sports complex event schedules
  • Assisting in the planning, organizing and management of events in different sports at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex
  • Determining event and venue utilization

  • Proactive and resourceful approach

Basic Qualifications:

  • Junior, senior, recent graduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Event Planning, Sport Management or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Current valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Operating a company vehicle is required for this role. Candidate must be willing and able to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including days, nights, and holidays

Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD
  • General knowledge of operating areas at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Current Active Disney Cast Members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World Cast Members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland Cast Members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Dates: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through January 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
