You will make an impact by supporting premium and youth conservation education programing, while also delivering select content at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Responsibilities include:

• 50% Program Support: Guest Facing
  • Specifically supporting the Caring For Giants program, a 60 minute backstage Guest experience. Responsibilities include:
    • Driving Guests to a behind-the-scenes location in a minibus while delivering supportive content.
    • Proactively engaging Guests with information about WDW animal experiences.
• 5% Program Support: Behind-the-Scenes
  • Impact strong Guest satisfaction by supporting daily premium tour operations logistics.
  • Act as a consultative thought partner in re-imagining existing operational procedures.
  • Maintain and develop a consistent inventory of supplies.
  • Thriving in a highly flexible environment, requiring strong attention to detail and integrity.
• 45% Teaching Conservation-Based Programs
  • Leading the facilitation and support of programs which may include:
    • Children, grades K-7, as part of Disney’s Conservation Day Camps.
    • Facilitating activities for a national audience of resort Guests experiencing special events.
    • Groups of students from around the country, grades 2-12.
    • Behind-the-Scenes tours for Guests of all ages.

Basic Qualifications What You Bring to the Role:

• An ability to excel in an extremely flexible, fast paced environment focusing on high Guest satisfaction.

• Experience working with the public in a formal or informal learning setting (i.e classroom, zoo, aquarium, museum, or science center)

• Strong public speaking experience

• A valid U.S driver’s license.
• Operating a company vehicle, including a 15 passenger van and mini-bus is required for this role.
• Candidates must be willing and able to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting.
• Must pass a Disney Department of Transportation Compliance Driver’s Record background check and Company Driving Tests
• Successful completion of the Disney College Program, Disney Professional Internship Program or Disney Culinary Programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally and written in two or more languages

Required Education Required Education:

• Focused field of study within Education, Zoology, Marine Science, Environmental or Life Sciences, Recreation, or related major

• Junior, Senior or recent college graduate of Undergraduate degree only

• Minimum grade point average of 2.0

Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own transportation to/from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 - January 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
