Disney Parks Live Entertainment is a team of entertainment professionals that imagines, creates, designs, produces, casts, costumes and operates the live entertainment offerings in our Disney parks and resorts worldwide and on board our Disney cruise ships. ResponsibilitiesMake an impact by…

  • Collaborating with and supporting the Creative Show Director and Writer Team
  • Researching and compiling information to be used in the creative process
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions regarding live entertainment shows, events, and projects
  • Writing drafts, creative treatments, pitches, scripts, and other show related materials while under the guidance of the Show Writer or Show Director
  • Creating notes, editing, and proofreading show related materials

Basic QualificationsWhat you bring to this role…

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience writing family friendly stories, dialog, plays, or other entertainment content
  • Special events experience
  • Understanding of the Disney brand

Basic Qualifications:

  • Junior, senior, recent graduate or graduate student with a degree in Theatre, Creative Writing, or related field
  • Experience writing family friendly stories, dialog, plays, or other entertainment content
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word

Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Understanding of the production process for developing live entertainment offerings

  • Résumé (outlining all of your required qualifications)
  • Electronic Portfolio - include examples of your creative writing style
  • Additional writing sample that should be no more than 350 to 500 words and can be on one of the two following subjects:
    • Captain Jack Sparrow in a tavern where a disagreement with his pirate comrades ends in a swordfight
    • Rapunzel and Flynn meet in a Town Square where they decide to teach the children a dance

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Dates: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through January 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
