Manager, Construction Safety & Site Logistics

LOCATIONS:

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Safety & Logistics Manager is responsible for the development of the project safety program and then implementing and maintaining construction safety, property protection and assisting in support of environmental compliance programs for the construction site. The Construction Safety & Logistics Manager also works with other parties likes Government Officials, Professional bodies to evaluate the safety programs of the contractors and the level of compliance with their contractual obligation for safety.
ResponsibilitiesCORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direction, advice and guidance to Safety Inspector to implement the duty of occupational safety and health related matters
  • Liaise with internal and external parties such as Government Officials Professional bodies, operation team and other agencies to plan and monitor regular safety program
  • Review the method statements and risk assessment from Contractors to ensure that hazards are identified and that sufficient controls are implemented
  • Oversea periodic safety inspection for ensuring compliance with WDI procedures and standards
  • Monitors the progress of investigations into unsafe practices, accidents and incidents
  • Review the accident reports and corrective actions. Advise the Contractor of revision for existing procedures
  • Work with Risk Management tam to identify loss exposures for the project and develop specific strategies for reducing the likelihood and severity of losses due to property damage, bodily injury to any part and environmental impairment
  • Organize & host monthly safety committee meetings for safety performance review & topic discussion
  • Cover irregular work hours including night works, dead early shift, weekend and holidays to ensure works are carried out in a safety manner

Basic QualificationsTECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree holder or above in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
  • A Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
  • Registered with the Hong Kong Labor Department as Safety Officer
  • At least 10 years experience of construction site safety and logistic arrangement
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and projects
  • Solid experience with major building contractors or developers
  • In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Regulations and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be diplomatic


Preferred QualificationsDESIRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Prior experience in hotel, theme park or entertainment developments

Required Education EDUCATION, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 10 years in construction industry with experience in commercial or industrial projects
  • Degree or above in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
  • A Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
  • Registered with the Hong Kong Labor Department as Safety Officer
