Lead Planning Manager

LOCATIONS:

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a CPM project programme that integrates programmes from outside vendors, contractors, and internal departments. Lead planning efforts with project team members in development of life cycle and near-term programmes. Develop contract programme documents for tender packages. Prepare and present executive level programmes and written monthly reports describing critical path, programme risks, and recommend mitigation measures. The successful candidate will report to both HK and US based executives and manage HK based staff. In addition to CPM programmes, the candidate should be conversant in earned value, commodity, and resource tracking methods and have extension of time claims analysis experience. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years planning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project life cycle and project master schedules
  • Prepare project plans and work with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules
  • Coordinate with project teams and disciplines to develop appropriate level of detail for schedule activity definition to support project monitoring and reporting needs
  • Conduct and lead planning and coordination meetings as required to collect information in support of planning and monitoring functions
  • Ensure effective application of appropriate policies and procedures, including project planning/scheduling procedures and reporting requirements
  • Collect/report progress, evaluate variances, develop work-around plans, and coordinate resolution of variances
  • Conduct manpower/materials commodities loading/resource/tracking analysis and progress curves as required with team
  • Produce reports and presentation as required to support project needs and management reporting
  • Assist in preparation of the schedule reporting specification for the contract bid packages and determine Schedule Milestones and/or Key Dates for oversight by the Project Team members and Senior Planner
  • Coordinate with contractors, responsible project team members, WDI performing work groups and WDI systems planners to develop and integrate activity durations and logic sequences required to perform project work
  • Conduct manpower loading/resource analysis, and develop and status earned man-hour progress curves as required
  • Prepare schedule specification for the bid package and determine contract schedule milestones
  • Scope of responsibility may include lead discipline planning coverage on some projects of show/ride concept development, show, ride, facility and area development design, show ride production and installation, show, ride test and adjust, show programming in addition to the core building construction and field disciplines
  • Responsible for preparation of the schedule reporting specification for the contract bid packages and determine Schedule Milestones and/or Key Dates for incorporation into the Contract Specification

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent
  • Prior experience as Lead Project Planner/Scheduler
  • Minimum 6 years engineering/construction planning and schduling and/or Disney planning/coordination experience
  • Proven knowledge of Company planning and scheduling procedures, planning techniques, all architectural/engineering and show ride disciplines and cost control systems
  • Proven to be a well-organized self-starter with strong communication, computer and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibits proven understanding of practical project controls applications and earned value measurement
  • Possess strong understanding of design and construction progress measurement
  • Proven strong relationship skills and demonstrates can work successfully with all members of the project team
  • Desmonstrates can successfully influence and lead a team
  • Demonstrates can appropriate delegate and coach/mentor talent
  • Demonstrates can successfully negotiate schedule changes with vendors and contractors
  • Must be able to prepare schedule specification for contractor bid packages and determine appropriate contract schedule milestones
  • Must be able to prepare project plans and work with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules
  • Must be able to develop comprehensive plans and schedules from multiple discipline drawings and specifications
  • Proven ability to coordinate with contractors, responsible project team members, and WDI systems planners to develop and integrate activity durations and logic sequences required to perform project work
  • Working knowledge of company planning and scheduling procedures, planning techniques, all architectural engineering and show/ride disciplines and cost control systems
  • Good understanding of practical project controls applications and earned value measurement
  • Proven ability to identify project critical path network
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Disney theme parks, show/ride product lines and design and construction
